Technical Adviser Job: Sports Ministry Orders NFF to Give Shortlisted Candidates Level Playing Ground

Respected Nigerian sports daily Complete Sports is reporting that the NFF has been directed by the Sports Ministry to give the 4 shortlisted candidates for the Super Eagles Technical Adviser position a level playing field.

A source close to the NFF secretariat said this directive was contained in a letter sent by the Ministry after the NFF Executive Committee recommended Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro for the job.

The other candidates shortlisted are Ernesto Valverde, Philip Cocu and Laurent Blanc.

“In the letter to us(NFF), the Ministry said the Presidency will be involved in paying the wages of the new Technical Adviser and so the NFF should be more thorough and professional with the process and not just settle for anyone without giving all the candidates a level playing field.

“The Ministry wants to be convinced that the NFF is making the right choice in picking Peseiro ahead of the other coaches who appear to have better pedigree and track records,” the source revealed.
