Tinubu not cause of present economic challenges — APC

Date:

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has affirmed that President Bola Tinubu is addressing economic challenges and implementing programs aimed at providing relief to Nigerians.

Speaking to journalists after the APC National Working Committee (NWC) meeting on Wednesday, APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru echoed President Tinubu’s call for protesters to reconsider their plans.

Basiru dismissed the protesters’ demands as primarily political and emphasized the administration’s efforts to tackle inherited economic difficulties.

“The APC, during its 153rd NWC meeting, joined President Tinubu in urging those planning protests to postpone their actions and trust the government’s ability to address economic challenges,” Basiru stated.

He acknowledged the global nature of many economic issues faced by the administration since assuming office in 2023, stressing that solutions require thorough deliberation.

The NWC highlighted that some concerns raised by protesters are political, while others pertain to constitutional amendments currently underway at the National Assembly.

Encouraging confidence in President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to revamp the economy, the meeting assured Nigerians that challenges will be overcome in due course.

The NWC also called on parents and responsible citizens to monitor the activities of young people to prevent their involvement in destabilizing activities.

Additionally, the NWC announced plans for an emergency meeting of APC state chairmen across the country to discuss further strategies.
