Trabzonspor have clarified that they are unable to meet the €15 million asking price for Nigeria international and Southampton striker Paul Onuachu.
Onuachu enjoyed a successful loan spell at Trabzonspor, scoring 15 goals in 21 Turkish Super Lig matches and adding two goals in four Turkish Cup games during the 2023/24 season.
The Turkish club is interested in securing Onuachu’s permanent transfer from the English Premier League side.
However, Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan has revealed that their offer falls short of the €15 million demanded by Southampton.

“Onuachu was a player who played for us on loan last season. His club insistently demands around 15 million euros. We offered 8 million euros with bonuses,” Doğan said on NTVSpor. “Trabzonspor cannot give 15 million euros to a football player right now. A player is 20-22 years old, it is our coach’s request, then it will be considered
“However, Trabzonspor cannot make such an offer to a 30-year-old player. The last 2-3 days. The situation is clear. We will wait and see.”
It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will reach an agreement over Onuachu with the Turkish transfer window set to close tonight.
