Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti is not in favour of the club signing former Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea to replace Thibaut Courtois.
Real Madrid have been forced to enter the market for a new goalkeeper after Courtois sustained a cruciate ligament injury during a training session on Thursday.
The Belgian is due to undergo surgery and is expected to miss the majority of the upcoming new campaign.
According to Cadena COPE, De Gea has been considered by Real Madrid’s hierarchy but Ancelotti is unconvinced by the Spaniard and would ‘veto’ the signing, even as a free transfer.
De Gea is still searching for a new club after leaving Manchester United earlier this summer following the expiration of his contract.
The 32-year-old was replaced by Andre Onana at Manchester United.
