Transfer: Arsenal take decision on signing Lavia for £50m

Date:

Arsenal are not willing to meet Southampton’s £50 million asking price for Romeo Lavia, according to reports.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta is on the verge of signing his top midfield target Declan Rice as the England midfielder is due to undergo a medical with the Gunners on Friday ahead of his £105million move from West Ham United.

Arteta is keen to bolster his central midfield even further following the departure of Granit Xhaka.

Recall that Xhaka officially left Arsenal to join Bayer Leverkusen in a £21.4million deal on Thursday.

However, according to Sky Sports, Arsenal will switch their focus to signing Lavia once their deal for Rice is complete, but the North London club are looking to sign the 19-year-old for less than Southampton’s £50million valuation.
