Transfer: Asensio’s preferred move revealed amid interest from EPL clubs, others

Date:

Real Madrid winger, Marco Asensio, would reportedly prefer a move to AC Milan amid interest from Premier League clubs Liverpool and Arsenal.

Asensio believes he would be more guaranteed a starting place with the Italian Serie A champions.

The 26-year-old, who is out of contract next summer at Real Madrid, will likely be available at a cut-price this transfer window.

According to Spanish publication Sport, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, likes Asensio, but the player is uncertain of a move to the Premier League giants owing to concerns over a starting place in the Reds’ XI.

Liverpool is looking to strengthen their forward options after the departure of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich.

Despite losing Mane this summer, Liverpool boasts a wealth of attacking talent, including Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and new signing Darwin Nunez.

It is that list of players that is said to have convinced Asensio, who was not a regular starter at Real Madrid last season, that a move to AC Milan would be more beneficial for his career.
