Transfer: Bayern Munich to sign Chelsea star for Tuchel

Date:

Bayern Munich are reportedly keen to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount for their manager Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel coached Mount during his time at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea’s head coach.

The German wants to raid his former club to bring Mount to Germany in the summer.

Mount is likely to leave Chelsea after talks between his representatives and the Blues hit a wall over a contract extension.

Chelsea may be forced into selling the England World Cup star this summer transfer window in a bid not to break Financial Fair Play rules.

Mount’s current contract with Chelsea will expire in the summer of 2024 and Liverpool are also strongly linked with a transfer for the 24-year-old.

But according to The Times, Tuchel, who had a strong relationship with Mount during his time at the Premier League giants, wants to bring the player to the Bundesliga.

Chelsea originally wanted to give Mount a seven-year deal that would keep him at the west London club until 2030 but the terms were nowhere close to what he was demanding.

Following news of their huge financial losses, Chelsea may now decide to sell Mount to avoid an FFP breach.

It is believed that Graham Potter’s side are looking for at least £50 million for Mount who made a total of 192 appearances for the club to date, scoring 33 goals and providing 37 assists.
