Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has said that he cannot stop Bernardo Silva from joining Barcelona at this point.
The Spaniard admitted he would not stop Silva’s happiness, adding that the Portuguese seems to like Barcelona a lot.
The Catalan giants want to bring Silva to the La Liga this summer, but the club’s financial restrictions have prevented them from submitting an offer.
However, City, according to reports, would only sell the player for a fee around €90m (£76m).
Silva featured in the friendly between City and Barcelona at Camp Nou on Wednesday evening which ended in a 3-3 draw.
After the match, Guardiola fielded questions on the midfielder’s future, and the former Barcelona manager said, “I don’t want anyone to be unhappy.
“As a player and as a person, he is one of the best I have ever had. In any competition, he is the best player.
“If an offer arrives, there are seven days left and if Bernardo leaves we would have to go to the market and it’s not easy.
“Having said that, Bernardo likes Barcelona a lot.”
