Transfer: Chelsea agree £18.5m deal for midfielder to leave Pochettino’s side

Date:

Chelsea have agreed on a transfer deal with Serie A giants AC Milan for midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

According to Sky Sport in Italy, Chelsea and Milan have reached an agreement for Loftus-Cheek worth £18.5 million, including add-ons.

Loftus-Cheek will now become the third first-team player to leave Chelsea this summer after Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante both secured moves to the Saudi Pro League (SPL) this month.

The Englishman is one of several players leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, with Chelsea keen to reduce manager Mauricio Pochettino’s squad ahead of the new season.

The 27-year-old made 33 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season but could not hold down a regular playing role in midfield.
