Chelsea have abandoned their pursuit of Nigerian-born forward Samu Omorodion for new manager Enzo Maresca this summer.
The Premier League club from west London will now shift their focus to other potential signings. Omorodion, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid, had been earmarked as Chelsea’s top attacking target for the upcoming transfer window.
The Blues remain committed to bolstering their forward line to support the beginning of the Maresca era.
The likes of Victor Osimhen, Jhon Duran and Viktor Gyokeres have all been linked with Chelsea and reports last week suggested the club had launched a £42million bid to prise Omorodion away from Atletico Madrid.

However, this offer was rejected out of hand by the La Liga club and Chelsea have ‘had enough of hitting a wall’, according to MARCA.
The report added that the latest development has forced Chelsea to drop their pursuit of the 21-year-old star.
