Transfer Deadline: Arteta set to sign best midfielder in Brazil for Arsenal before Thursday

Date:

Mikel Arteta is set to bring in another Brazilian before Thursday’s transfer deadline as Arsenal submits a £20 million offer for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo.

The Gunners want a stronger squad to maintain their bright start in the new season and Mikel Arteta is keen on strengthening his options in central midfield.

The desire to sign the Brazilian midfielder followed injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny and it appears Arsenal’s technical director Edu has turned to the Brazilian market once again.

Goal Brazil reports that the Gunners have tabled a £20m bid for Danilo, however, Palmeiras are ready to reject the offer as they want a significantly higher fee for the 21-year-old.

Danilo has made 43 appearances for Palmeiras this year, scoring seven goals and registering three assists.

Danilo is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Brazil.
