Leicester have completed the signing of Wout Faes from Reims as a replacement for Wesley Fofana.

The 24-year-old defender has signed a five-year contract with the Foxes.

Faes is a Belgium international who came through Anderlecht’s academy system.

He joined Reims in 2022 and made 75 appearances for the Ligue Un club, scoring five goals.

He was voted the club’s Player of the Season at the end of the last campaign.

Speaking to LCFC TV, Faes said: “It’s an amazing feeling; it’s not sunk in yet. This is the dream step in my career, and I’m very happy to be here.

“I’m progressing year after year, and I hope to continue doing the same here. All the facilities and knowledge is here to help me to get even better.

“I will have to work hard, but I will give 100 per cent to help the team.

Meanwhile, talkSPORT’s Jim White reports that Aston Villa rejected Arsenal’s bid for midfielder Douglas Luiz, saying he is “not for sale.”

Arsenal have made a £20m bid, plus add-ons, as Mikel Arteta wants to add depth to his midfield room.

Recent injuries to Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey have accelerated their need, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is heading to Southampton.

But the Gunners face a fight to convince Villa to part with Luiz.
