Transfer: Haaland to confirm new club next week

Borussia Dortmund chief, Sebastien Kehl has said he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Erling Haaland leaves in the summer with a decision on his future expected next week, the UK Mirror reports.

Haaland’s £64m release clause comes into effect at the end of this season.

Manchester City are reportedly leading the race for the 21-year-old’s signature, as Pep Guardiola seeks to add a top striker following his failed pursuit of Harry Kane last summer.

Real Madrid have also been linked with Haaland, as an alternative to Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe.

“[I expect] clarity in the next week,” Kehl told STAHLWERK Doppelpass on SPORT1 when quizzed on his future.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he moved on in the end.”

Haaland has scored 85 times in 88 appearances for Dortmund.
