Former Chelsea assistant coach, Jody Morris has encouraged the club to bring in Barcelona striker, Pieces Aubameyang this summer.
Aubameyang, who left Arsenal for Barcelona in 2021, has been heavily linked with a return to London.
The Blues are said to have submitted their first offer for the 33-year-old Gabon international, which is looking to be completed before the deadline day.
Morris believes Thomas Tuchel needs a new striker before the transfer window closes.
This was after the Blues were battered 3-0 by Leeds United in the Premier League on Sunday.
When asked if Aubameyang would be a solution for Chelsea, Morris replied: ‘You’d have to say he’d improve the team at the moment because he’s a renowned goalscorer,” Morris told Stadium.Astro.
“I think he would function more as a No.9, I don’t think you’d find him out wide or playing on the left like he did quite a few times for Arsenal.
“I think if Chelsea were to sign him, they’d want him to operate down the middle.
“I’m not sure if there are others out there or whether that’s the one they’re looking for, but they definitely need something.”
