Transfer: Ighalo leaves Saudi club, Al Hilal

Date:

Nigeria forward, Odion Ighalo has severed ties with Saudi Arabia Professional Football League club, Al Hilal following the expiration of his contract.

Ighalo joined Al Hilal from another Saudi club, Al Shabab in January 2022.

The 33-year-old won the Saudi League title in his first season at the club.

The striker also finished the season as the league’s top scorer with 24 goals.

In the just concluded season, Ighalo contributed 19 goals despite Al Hilal’s failure to successfully defend their title.

He won the Kings Cup in his last season with the Blue Waves.

Meanwhile, Al Hilal have thanked the player for his successful stay with them.

“Thanks @ighalojude. Wishing you good luck and success. #AlHilal,” reads a tweet on the club’s official Twitter handle.
