Fenerbahce manager José Mourinho is pushing for an improved contract for Nigeria defender Bright Osayi-Samuel, whose current deal is set to expire next summer.

The 27-year-old turned down a contract extension offer from the club during the summer, citing his desire for a higher salary.

According to Fanatik, the full-back wants an annual salary of €2.5m.

The Yellow Canaries also want him to sign a new three-year contract.

Mourinho is keen to retain the services of the highly-rated defender and want his future sorted immediately.

Osayi-Samuel linked up with the Yellow Canaries from QPR in January, 2021.

He has made seven league appearances this season with one assist to his name.
