Transfer: Napoli’s president turned down a ‘pharaonic’ offer from PSG for Osimhen

Mauro Meluso, the former sports chief of Napoli, has revealed that the club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, turned down a massive offer from Paris Saint-Germain to transfer Victor Osimhen last year.

According to Meluso, De Laurentiis rejected PSG’s offer out of too much love for the Nigeria international.

Osimhen is still being rumored for a move away from Napoli as the summer transfer window nears its close at the end of this week.

The former Lille striker has drawn interest from PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal, and the Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli.
“I arrived in mid-July, he was already there; it was a very high offer from one of the best teams in Europe, an indispensable offer rejected by President De Laurentiis, perhaps also due to too much love,” Meluso told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“The team was Paris Saint-Germain, a pharaonic offer was rejected which in my opinion was indispensable. A mistake dictated by too much love, by too much passion from President De Laurentiis. Then when I arrived, there was a start to negotiations for the renewal and today you find yourself with a problem.”
