Transfer: Saka doubles his wages in new contract as Chelsea fails in £60m bid for attacker

Date:

Arsenal winger, Bukayo Saka will double his £70,000-a-week salary as he gave the biggest hint he will sign a new contract at the Emirates.

Talks are still ongoing, according to talkSPORT, but the Gunners are confident amid interest from Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.

And now when asked about his manager’s comments, Saka replied: “Yes, I share his confidence.”

When pressed further, the forward simply added: “I share that confidence, that is it.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea will not be successful in their bid to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton as the 21-year-old will remain at Goodison Park despite numerous bids from the Blues.

The Blues are believed to have offered around £60m for the youngster, but Frank Lampard has said the deadline has passed to sell him.

After his side drew 1-1 with Leeds on Tuesday, Lampard said: “I’m very confident he’ll be our player. Deadline to decide to sell him has passed.

“He’s too important a player, he’s shown his worth. What good does it do us to do anything with Anthony now?”
