Transfer window: Lukaku’s return to Inter Milan shocks ex-Junior coach Jacob

Date:

Ariel Jacobs has weighed into Romelu Lukaku’s problems at Chelsea.

The Belgium striker is leaving Chelsea to return on-loan at Inter Milan after an underwhelming 12 months.

Jacobs coached Lukaku as a youngster at Anderlecht and told Het Nieuwsblad: “”Because his first adventure at Chelsea also did not go well, the English press was never really on his side.

“I also did not see such a season coming. He already knew English football, so it was nothing new.

“There is talk of (Thomas) Tuchel’s game, but before his return to Chelsea they must have talked for a long time.

“Tuchel absolutely wanted him, although (Timo) Werner and (Kai) Havertz were already there.

“I think something happened that we don’t know about.”
