Manchester United will make another decision on Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the January transfer window after deciding not to sell the right-back during the summer.
Wan-Bissaka is low in Erik ten Hag’s pecking order and has managed just four minutes of senior football so far this campaign. He came off the bench late on during the 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford, replacing right-back rival Diogo Dalot.
However, Wan-Bissaka was kept on the bench for the entirety of the next Premier League match, against Southampton. And he hasn’t even made the squad for any league games in September.
Manchester United spent a reported £50million when capturing the Englishman from Crystal Palace in summer 2019. The immense cost of the defender is causing a headache for Ten Hag.
He doesn’t seem to believe in Wan-Bissaka’s ability going forward. This is why the Dutchman is going for Dalot on the right side of defence in most matches.
While Dalot is not as good defensively as his team-mate, he provides a lot more threat in the attacking third.
Wan-Bissaka was linked with a United exit during the summer. His former club Palace, along with West Ham, were looking into a deal.
