Transfer window: PSG out of running for Juve’s target Pogba

Paris Saint-Germain have pulled out of the running to sign Juventus target Paul Pogba, according to reports in France.

The midfielder is expected to leave Manchester United on a free transfer when his contract expires on June 30 – with Juve among the front runners for his signature.

Recent reports suggested that when Rafaela Pimenta, the lawyer of former agent Mino Raiola, who represented Pogba among other top footballers, spoke to Juve chiefs, a move for the France international was discussed.

PSG had been considered competitors for Pogba’s signature but L’Equipe report they are no longer in the race as new sporting director Luis Campos is not interested.

Pogba had been a target for Leonardo, Campos’ predecessor.

The 29-year-old made his professional debut with United in 2011 but left to join Juve on a free transfer in the summer of 2012.

After four seasons in Turin and Serie A and Coppa Italia doubles in each, he returned to United for a then world-record transfer fee of €105 million.
