U-20 AFCON: Bosso names Bamaiyi new Flying Eagles captain

Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso has appointed Daniel Bamaiyi new captain of the team ahead of the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Bamaiyi replace Oluwatosin Adegbite, who led the Flying Eagles to glory at the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Niger Republic last May.

Adegbite will not be part of the Flying Eagles squad to the U-20 AFCON after sustaining an injury during training at his club, Enyimba.

Similarly, Daniel Daga and Chijioke Aniagboso will serve as first and second assistant captains respectively.

The Flying Eagles will look to win their eighth continental title when hostilities start later this month in Egypt.

The West Africans are in Group A with hosts Egypt, Mozambique and Senegal.
