U-20 AFCON: Why I decamped 15 players – Flying Eagles boss, Bosso

Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso, has revealed why he dropped 15 players from the team’s camp.

The affected players were decamped last weekend.

The Flying Eagles set up camp in Abuja ahead of the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Abuja last week Monday.

“Players with injuries are not accepted because the national team is not a rehabilitation centre, so go and finish your treatment and probably, you can meet us in January,” Bosso told BRILA FM.

“So, I have given them that full break within the next two weeks. And those ones with passport issues, if you don’t have passport, there is no way you can play in the national team.”

Bosso has already extended invitation to new players to beef up the team as they intensify preparations ahead of the competition.

The Flying Eagles played three friendlies last week and are expected to engage in more tune-up games before they embark on Christmas and New Year break.

Egypt will host the U-20 AFCON from February 18 to March 12, 2023.
