Technical director, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Augustine Eguaveon has tasked Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso to devise a winning formula against Italy.

The Flying Eagles will take on the Gil Azzurrini in their second group game at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Mendoza on Wednesday (today).

Italy defeated one of the pre-tournament favourites, Brazil 3-2 in their opening fixture.

The Italians were in devastating form in the first half of the encounter scoring thrice, before Brazil rallied to score twice after the break.

Eguaveon, a former Super Eagles defender, advised Bosso to devise a winning plan to secure victory against the Europeans.

“The Italians are a good side but nothing is given in football until a match is played and ends. It is about the set-up, about the structure of your team and how much you bring to bear what you have noticed about the other team,” Eguavoen told thenff.com.

“I’m happy our coaches saw the Italians play the Brazilians and it is now left for us all to put our heads together and devise a winning plan.”

A draw would be enough for the Flying Eagles to secure a place in the Round of 16.
