U-20 World Cup: Peseiro thumbs up gallant Flying Eagles despite ouster

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has hailed the Flying Eagles despite the team’s ouster from the ongoing 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.

The Flying Eagles were eliminated from the competition following a 1-0 defeat to South Korea on Sunday night.

Both teams battled to a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes but the Taegeuk Warriors won in extra time courtesy of Choi Seokhyun’s header.

Peseiro stated that Ladan Bosso and his boys can be proud of their achievements in the competition.

“Heads up, Flying Eagles! What you have shown in this world cup makes Nigerian people proud. They fought and honoured to the end and earned a place among the top 8 teams in the World. #FlyingEagles,” the Portuguese wrote on his Twitter handle.
