U-23 AFCON qualifiers- Nigeria drawn bye in first round

Nigeria has been drawn bye in the first round of the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.

The draw ceremony for the qualifiers took place at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday.

The U-23 Eagles will face the winner between Tanzania and South Sudan in the second round.

If they progress, the U-23 Eagles will face Guinea or Uganda in the final round of the qualifiers.

The second-round games will come up between October 21-30, 2022.

The final round of the qualifiers is slated for between March 20-28, 2023.

The competition will serve as the qualifiers for the football event of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
