U17 AFCON: Morocco Joins Golden Eaglets In Algeria

Junior Atlas Lions of Morocco have become the 8th country to secure its spot in the 2023 U17 African Cup of Nations in Algeria.

Golden Eaglets of Nigeria alongside Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Somalia and South Sudan and host Algeria are the countries that have already booked their ticket for the tournament.

Morocco in UNAF regional competition came on top in the round-robin format tournament after they defeat rival Egypt 2-1 to finish with 9 points.

In the other match of the final day, played at the same time at the Olympic Stadium Tunisia won against Libya 3-2.

At the end of the competition, Morocco finished in the lead with 9 points, ahead of Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia, which finished with 3 points each.

The 2023 CAF U17 African Nations Cup will hold in Algeria from 8th-30th April, 2023. The competition serves as FIFA U17 World Cup qualifiers where the top four teams represent African at the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup.
