U18 Afrobasket: J’Tigers lose out to Mali

Nigeria’s U18 Men’s Basketball team, J’Tigers are out of the 2024 Afrobasket U18 Championship after they were beaten 81-70 by Mali in their quarter-finals match.

The Malians took the fight from the beginning winning the first quarter 23-19 and led through the break at 40-38. The fight by J’Tigers to take control failed as Mali eventually won the match which began at 7pm Nigeria time in Pretoria, South Africa.

The winners and runners-up of the championship will qualify for the FIBA World Championship billed for Switzerland.

The Nigerian ladies got through to the semi-finals on Wednesday after beating Egypt 61-56 in their quarter-finals. They will face Uganda in the semi-final stage tonight.
