Flying Eagles of Nigeria were in super form on Wednesday/Thursday morning as they defeated hot favorites and hosts Argentina 2-0 to qualify for the last eight of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Nigeria side that came closing to crashing out in the group stage after winning two matches and losing one against Brazil, finished as one of the best losers but threw all the arsenal in the armory in the match against Argentina to progress.
Ibrahim mohammed had enjoyed an assist from Umeh Emmanuel in the 61st minute of the match to grab the first goal and all looked as if the match will end in a lone goal victory for the Ladan Bosso tutored side.
But that was not to be as Riwanu Sarki got an impressive pass from Victor Eletu in added time to garnished the victory with a second goal thus pushing the match out of the reach of the Argentine team.
The Javier Mascherano tutored host then began to fire from all corners with intent to turn or shake the table to no avails. The like of Gray, Redondo, Ifantino, Talango, Gomes and Romero became masters of possession in the closing minutes of the match hitting targets but finding rock solid Nigerian goalkeeper Chijioke Kingsley Aniagboso (CKA) too hot for comfort.
He did not only parry their shots with ease but declared operation keep Argentina away (OKAY) around his the Nigeria goal area.
