Atletico Madrid coach, Diego Simeone, has said Club Brugge deserved their Champions League win on Tuesday night.
Club Brugge won 2-0 through goals from former Barcelona striker Ferran Jutgla and Kamal Sowah.
Simeone later said: “It was a well-played match, we controlled the first half and had chances. But our lack of forcefulness led us to not take advantage of those opportunities. And later the match from their goalkeeper was key. There’s still a lot of the Champions League to play and I will stay positive, there is still a lot to compete for.
“I saw a very strong Club Brugge this evening. But we were prepared for that. We played a very strong first half. We just missed precision and perhaps even confidence. That penalty not going in, that could have changed the whole game. But we’re not throwing in the towel.
“There are three matches left for us to correct this.”
