Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has returned to training, providing a welcome boost ahead of Wednesday’s showdown with Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old was absent from Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday due to a hamstring issue sustained in the match against Aston Villa on November 9.
“Trent is in the squad, but he won’t be available to start,” Liverpool manager Arne Slot told reporters. “He may feature for a few minutes, but ideally, he won’t.”
Federico Chiesa also joined the training session on Tuesday as he continues his recovery and works towards full fitness.
