Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, has revealed to Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand the two football stars he wants to emulate.
Mbappe told Ferdinand that he wants to follow in the footsteps of football icons, Thierry Henry and Ronaldo Nazario, in order for him to develop into a ‘complete’ forward in the coming years.
The France World Cup winner said this before PSG’s Champions League round of 16 second-leg tie against Real Madrid on Wednesday night at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Asked by the BT Sport pundit, Ferdinand, who his inspirations were for the type of movement in behind he frequently shows as well as his style of play, Mbappe named Henry, an Arsenal legend and Ronaldo, a former Real Madrid striker.
He said, “As a Frenchman, you can say Thierry Henry. [That is] normal. But Ronaldo Nazario too.
“This type of player who plays with the ball, [who] is connected with the game, but can also play without the ball and create some movement without it.
“This is the type of complete player I want to be, so I work every day to be as good as them, but it’s difficult.”
