Super Eagles duo, Calvin Bassey and Victor Osimhen will clash in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Bassey’s Eredivisie club, Ajax Amsterdam are paired in Group A along with Liverpool and Rangers.
Incidentally, Bassey only joined Ajax from Rangers this summer.
Osimhen is Napoli’s leading marksman and played a key role in the Partenopei’s qualification for the competition.
Defender Zaidu Sanusi and his FC Porto teammates will face LaLiga club, Atletico Madrid, Belgian champions, Club Brugge and Bundesliga club, Bayer Leverkusen in Group B.
This season’s Champions League group stage will be played over a shorter period — nine weeks rather than typical 12 weeks — due to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which begins in November.
