Former Super Eagles coach, Augustine Eguavoen, has sympathized with Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey after their club lost the UEFA Europa League final to Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night in Sevilla.
Frankfurt defeated Rangers in the Europa League final at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.
After a 1-1 draw in regulation and extra time, Frankfurt went on to beat Rangers 5-4 in a penalty to be crowned Europa League champions.
Reacting, Eguavoen, in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Thursday, urged Bassey, Aribo and Balogun to be proud despite Rangers losing the Europa League final to the Bundesliga side.
He said the trio have been fantastic for the Scottish giants this season.
“Commiserations to Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey. A fantastic season from all of them. A penalty shootout can go either way, they should be very proud.
“Nigerians continue to show their excellence around the world,” Eguavoen tweeted.
