The stage is set for the kick off of the United Elites Football Championship Super 8, as participating teams are now aware of who their foes are following a well attended draws ceremony during the week.
The Super 8 which will commence December 18 – December 22, at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, at 9.am prompt each day, is meant to produce the actual winner of the UFC regular league that ran through out the year.
It also signifies or brings the season to a climaxing end as they await a new season according to organizers.
Emmanuel Udeogu, Chairman UFC, while speaking after the draws, said it has been a long season.
According to him, they have made their mistakes, learnt from such errors and accepted to make those corrections going forward to ensure that the experience garnered in their very first season is made to count and birth a better, bigger and more organized second season.
“We thank God for everything. It has really been a very long season but it’s now ending in style.
“We definitely had our own share of challenges being our first season, we made mistakes, learnt from them and hopefully wish to come out stronger next season bigger and better.
“My appreciation goes to the the teams, club owners, LMC, media, fans, and indeed all that contributed to the success of the league, while also calling on sponsors both corporate and private to support the league”, he concluded.
