Unity Preseason Tournament Gets 11th August Date

Organisers of the Unity Preseason Tournament has fixed Sunday 11th August as the kick off date of the 2024 edition of the tournament.

Announcing this in Abuja, the General Coordinator of the tournament Patrick Ngwaogu (Odogwu) said the tournament which would take place in Abuja, will run from 11th to 18th August 2024.

He said that the tournament which is the flagship in the Northern region, is aimed at ensuring that the teams are adequately prepared for the 2024/2025 league season.

Ngwaogu who was the first Vice Chairman of the FCT Football Association said all the expected clubs have been notified and they are very excited about it, and are prepared to use the Abuja tournament as a rehearsal for the new season.

It would be recalled that the tournament which is in its fourth edition showcased the likes of Frederick Benjamin then of SimonBen Academy and Onuche Ogbelu then of Fosla Academy to the national team selectors. Both players later played for U.20 national team before taking their trade overseas.
