Young Nigerian striker, Victory Beniangba has joined Switzerland based outfit, Servette on a one year loan deal.
Beniangba made the switch from Belgian side, Jong Genk. The free -scoring forward will be with the team till the end of the season, we are told.
The former Cleopatra FC of Egypt player missed out on a chance to move to Serbian side, Red Star Belgrade during the winter after Genk made a last minute change of mind that made the deal fell through.
Beniangba’s story is a classic rags to riches case. The Ijaw born fisher boy rose from the mud in Bayelsa where he fished to stardom.
He couldn’t have asked for a better birthday gift as he just marked his birthday.
He is one of the talented players under internationally renowned sports agency, SPOCS.
The agency’s Nigeria Director, Gbenga Agbejoye broke the news of his move to us.
“Our player Victory Beniangba has moved to join Servette on loan.
“We’re happy over the move and we want to use this opportunity to wish him the very best in this new chapter of his career”.
Interestingly, as at 2020 which was four years ago Beniangba still does menial jobs along the river coast in Bayelsa. What a change of fortunes.
SPOCS is notable for having achieved landmark successes with African players such as Mohamed Salah, Baba Rahman, Mohamed Elneny, Adama Bojang and most recently Emmanuel Chukwu, Precious Benjamin, Robert Mizo, Toheeb Kosoko to mention a few.
The CEO/founder of the agency, Sascha Empacher is a firm believer in African talent which he has proved in many ways.
