W/Cup Playoff: 21 Eagles on ground Bonke to hit camp today

Late call-up Innocent Bonke is expected to hit camp today as Super Eagles put finishing touches ahead of departure to Ghana. Bonke who was drafted in following injury to Eagles and Leicester city regular Wilfred Ndidi is reportedly eager to be part of the squad to pick World cup ticket for the country.

The Lorient of France midfielder is not a novice to the Eagles fold having featured in two world cup qualifiers against Cape Verde away and at home.

Twenty one players have already arrived Eagles Camp in Abuja and the team is expected to jet out to Kumasi after shape up ahead of the Friday’s first leg Showdown at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Team Captain Ahmed Musa in his usual leadership by example style was first to hit the camp and the camp has since continued to swell. Among players good to go in camp William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Semi Ajayi, Ola Aina, Frank Onyeka, Ademola Lookman, Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Joe Aribo, Calvin Bassey, Emmanuel Dennis, and Oghenekaro Etebo.

Others are Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho, Daniel Akpeyi, Abdullahi Shehu, Odion Ighalo, Zaidu Sanusi, and Moses Simon.

The second leg encounter will take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. A number of soccer fans who bared their minds in chat with Sportinglife.ng ahead of the double header urged Eagles to avoid losing by any margin in Ghana, adding that only a draw will be considered semi-okay for the team going into the second leg.

“The Eagles should just play well and avoid losing in Ghana. If they are able to do that in the second leg even a lone goal will be good enough to earn us the ticket” they said. Both teams are desperate to earn world cup ticket after a not too impressive run at the Nations cup in Cameroon.
