*In Benin *Tomorrow *Opponents in town
After the initial hiccups caused by a clash of fixtures of CAF organized competition in same city and venue, the coast is now clear for Delta Queens to roll out the tanks for the sole ticket to this season’s continental champion’s League competition in Ivory Coast.
The WAFU zone B qualifiers was billed to kick off yesterday but had to tarry because of today’s CAF confederation showdown between Insurance of Benin and their opponents from Algeria.
However, the qualifiers will hit the ground running tomorrow with Delta Queens, USFA (Burkina Faso) and SAM Nelly (Benin Republic) in group A while Ampem Darkoa (Ghana), Amis de Monde (Togo) and Athletico FC (Ivory Coast) are grouped in B.
The 7th team from Niger Republic could not participate due to crisis in that country.
Although not much is known about these teams, Nigeria with a rich history in female football couple the blistering form of her flag bearer should be able to over run these opponents for the ticket.
Delta Queens, preparatory to this crucial encounters had engaged in rigorous trainings with tune up games with head coach, Tosan Blankson supervising proceedings under the watchful eyes of Chief Tonobok Okowa, the Executive Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission.
Physically, the girls are as fit as fiddle having been drilled by renowned athletics coach, Sir Seigher Pobeni.
