History was made Saturday, May 18 at the Legacy Pitch inside the Main bowl of the National stadium, Surulere, Lagos as Wazbak Queens emerged proud winners of the inaugural edition of the ibidoyin Aina Cup 2024.
The one day tournament involving four top female sides representing different regions in the state, saw Wazbak Queens defeat Papa Queens in the final 4-2 on penalties after the game ended 0-0 at regulation time, while Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens walloped Phoenix Queens 3-0 in the loser’s final to cart away the bronze medal.
Wazbak Queens piped Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens 1-0 to reach the final while Papa Queens also defeated Phoenix Queens by the same goal margin 1-0 to set up a final clash with Wazbak while Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens and Phoenix Queens settled for the third place match.

The event was to commemorate the birthday of Lawyer cum female football enthusiast, Ibidoyin Aina who is a committee member in female football in the Lagos state football association (LSFA).
It attracted many important dignitaries from different walks of life including the LSFA boss, Hajj Liameed Gafar amongst others as they were treated to the best of female football.
The competition which will be an annual event is conceived to support the girl child in a male dominated world and female football in general.
It was organized by The Bulls Sports Limited and ManuelKing Sports Marketing Limited. They had partners such as Inspire Marketing and Branding Limited, Gorah Health Care, LSFA, Olukayode Aina & Co amongst. others.
