Nigeria winger Samuel Chukwueze has explained why he turned down a move to Saudi Arabia last summer.
After the 2022/23 season, several clubs from the Asian country showed interest in Chukwueze.
Despite the tempting offers and pressure from his manager, the 25-year-old chose not to accept.
Instead, Chukwueze decided to join Serie A giants AC Milan, ending his five-year tenure with LaLiga’s Villarreal.

“If money were my primary concern, I would have signed with a Saudi Arabian club,” Chukwueze told Football Italia. “They were keen on me a year ago. My focus was solely on Milan. Even when my agent mentioned the lucrative offers, I was clear: ‘I don’t want to go anywhere else.’ So, he accepted my decision. If the money comes, it comes. What matters most is believing in myself; I’m still young, I want to succeed, and I need to stay in Europe.”
Chukwueze scored once in 24 league appearances for AC Milan last season.
