Whyte Says AJ Should Fight Him Instead Of Fat Miller

Dillian Whyte has slammed Anthony Joshua for taking the ‘easy’ option by choosing Jarrell Miller as his next opponent.

Whyte, 30, had been negotiating a potential rematch with Joshua before talks broke down in January.

Instead, Joshua will go to America to fight Miller in what many consider to be a simple task for the WBO, IBF and WBA heavyweight champion.

It leaves Whyte, ranked No.1 with the WBO and WBC sanctioning bodies, low on credible options for his next fight, with fellow heavyweights Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury also booked up for the foreseeable future.

And ‘The Body Snatcher’ believes he should be the one fighting Joshua in a title bout at Wembley Stadium.

“I should’ve been fighting Joshua,” he told talkSPORT.

“We’ve been trying to make the fight from September last year. The date at Wembley was booked.

“We made multiple attempts and they came to me with 11 weeks’ notice and tried to make a big fight. It doesn’t work like that.

“They gave Miller 19 weeks’ notice and I’m a much higher ranked fighter than Miller. They were never serious about the fight because they know how dangerous I am.

“They went, ‘Okay we’ll make an offer just to tick the box’, because they knew they were going to go to America and fight Miller anyway.

“I’m number four now. Anyone in the top three above me, I want to fight. I’m not scared to fight the top guys or lose to any of these guys.

“Everyone’s worried about losing or looking bad, so what?”

Meanwhile, Whyte believes he knows what it takes to beat Joshua, despite his defeat in 2015.

And ‘The Body Snatcher’ gives Miller no chance of causing an upset, describing him as an ‘inexperienced fat guy’.

He added: “I think it’ll be an easy fight because Miller’s quite slow.

“He isn’t experienced enough and he hasn’t fought any top opponents. He’s a tough guy, ex kick-boxer like me, he seems to be saying the right things. But saying the right things and doing the right things are two different things.

“He hasn’t fought anyone, really. To beat Joshua you need a few things. You need a good jab and a lot of power. And you need to be extremely tough. I don’t think Miller stands out in any of those areas.

“He’s got the size but he’s not physically strong. He’s just a big fat guy, really.”
