Victor Osimhen is confident that the Super Eagles will find their rhythm and secure vital victories in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Currently, Nigeria is in fifth place out of six teams in Group C, with just three points from four matches. To keep their World Cup hopes alive, the Super Eagles must win both fixtures.
Osimhen has highlighted the importance of these games, stressing the team’s determination to succeed despite the challenges ahead.
“You have to give everything; it’s every young player’s dream to play at the World Cup. Mine is no exception,” Osimhen told journalist Oluwashina Okeleji via X. “I want to be there, just like every one of my teammates. We’re looking forward to the matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe to correct past mistakes. We’ll be ready.”
Recognizing the unpredictability of African football, Osimhen added, “It won’t be easy. African football is unpredictable, but we’ll take each game as it comes.”
The striker also expressed optimism about the new coach and the fresh direction for the team.
“I’ve spoken with him a few times, and I understand the objectives he has set for the team. I’m looking forward to our first training session to experience his approach first-hand,” he shared.
As these crucial matches approach, Osimhen and the Super Eagles are eager to turn their campaign around and reignite their World Cup ambitions.
