The Socceroos of Australia have progressed to the knock out stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after claiming a 1-0 victory against Denmark, courtesy of a goal from Mathew Leckie, at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, Qatar.
Australia only needed a draw to progress from Group D providing Tunisia did not beat France, while Denmark had to win to have any chance of progressing. Denmark dominated the first half but couldn’t find the net. Australia held on as the scores remained 0-0 at halftime.
