England striker, Marcus Rashford has claimed that his team would play even better in the knockout stage after qualifying for the Round of 16.
Rashford said this after scoring a brace in England’s World Cup 3-0 win over Wales on Tuesday.
Recall that England defeated Wales in their final Group B tie, thanks to two goals from Rashford and a strike from Phil Foden.
England will now face Senegal in the last-16 on Sunday.
“Moments like this, this is what I play football for, biggest moments, the best moments,” Rashford told the BBC.
“I’m really happy today, I’m really happy that we’re going through to the next round of the tournament.
“Hopefully, we can build on this performance because I still have massive ambition for this team and I think we can play even better than what we showed tonight.”
