Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has picked his native country, Portugal and holders France as the two main contenders for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The attention of the world will shift to Qatar on Sunday when hostilities start in the Asian country.
Holders France head into the tournament with the sole aim of winning a third title, while the likes of Brazil and Portugal have also been tipped by pundits to emerge victorious in Qatar.
Peseiro however believed that France and Portugal have what it takes to rule the world.
The former Venezuela coach made the assertion after the Super Eagles 4-0 defeat to Portugal in an international friendly.
“The individual quality of these players is tremendous, and so is the competitive level. Our coaches and players did not have this dimension,” Peseiro told reporters.
“That’s why I say it’s the selection with more solutions and more quality. Apart from France, which may be the most favorite, there’s no one else you can say that to. Being world champion is more open.”
