WTT Contender: Portuguese Youngster Knock Out Aruna Quadri In Doha

It was a poor start for Nigeria’s table tennis star Aruna Quadri at the World Table Tennis contender in Doha as he bowed out in the first round.

The Nigeria star had a decent outing in the just concluded Durban series finishing in the quarter-final but failed to go beyond the first round in Doha.

Playing against a Portuguese qualifier Narco Freitas, Aruna dominated the first round and was able to finish on top.

A decent performance saw Freitas bounce back, showcasing his mettle to win three games on the trot, upsetting the Nigerian star to secure his spot in the next stage (5-11, 11-7, 11-9, 13-11).
