YBL Season Two Begins August 11th In Lagos

Following a successful boxing seminar in Lagos in July, Yucateco boxing promotions have announced Sunday August 11th for the opening ceremony and week one round of bouts of Season 2 of the Yucateco boxing league.

In a statement released by the boxing outfit on Monday, the Opening Ceremony and the first set of bouts will hold at Jevinik Place, Isaac John Street Ikeja, GRA Lagos.

According to the organizers, Season 2 of the boxing league will hold in 12 states while 312 boxers will fight in 13 different weight classes in both male and female categories.

The league which has been adjudged by experts as the most consistent amateur boxing event on the continent will have twelve accredited clubs compete for the season prize money of 50 million naira.

The top three boxers in each weight categories will get cash rewards with the most outstanding pugilists pocketing two million naira each.

The twelve states listed for season 2 of the boxing league includes Edo, River State, Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun, Kwara and Cross River. Others are Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano state.
