‘You are not alone’, Igali backs Odunayo Adekuoroye for success after round of 16 win

Date:

The President Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali, has penned an emotional support for Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekuoroye in her quest to make Nigeria proud

Igali, in his official Facebook page, hinted at the weight and pressure on Odunayo succeeding as Nigeria is yet to record a medal so far at the Olympics.

Adekuoroye, a multiple times world medalist, defeated her Algerian counterpart Chaimaa Aouiss in the round of 16 after she was unable to continue due to injury sustained seconds into the game.

The triumph cements her place in the final 8, a result that offers a medal pathway for Team Nigeria.

“You are never alone on the wrestling mats; with every move you make, with every ounce of determination you show, know that an entire nation is cheering you on to victory.”

“Your journey is a testament to your resilience, strength, and unwavering spirit. Today, harness that inner fire, be relentless in your pursuit of victory, and showcase to the world the true essence of your talent and abilities.”

“Go out there, give it your all, be ruthless, and make yourself and all of us proud. You are a champion, and today is your day to shine brightly. Embrace the challenge, embrace the moment, and let your spirit soar. Believe in yourself as much as we believe in you.” Igali stated.
