Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has responded to club legend Jamie Carragher, accusing him of being “obsessed” amid ongoing speculation about his future at Anfield.
The Egyptian winger, who has six months remaining on his contract, has been at the center of a heated exchange with Carragher as uncertainty surrounds his next career move.
With Salah now eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs, the focus on his actions and statements has intensified.
Carragher, known for his forthright opinions, has been critical of Salah’s recent behaviour.
The former Liverpool defender took issue with a cryptic photo Salah shared on social media alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, which many saw as a subtle message directed at the club’s hierarchy.
Labeling Salah as “selfish” in earlier remarks, Carragher urged the forward to emulate Van Dijk’s composed approach to contract negotiations.
Salah, however, wasn’t having it. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night, he responded: “I’m starting to think you’re obsessed with me.”
Carragher, in a lighthearted reply, quipped: “I’ve always been obsessed with you. Hopefully, that obsession will continue next season.”
